This course will provide students with the basic knowledge and understanding of the structure and function of the human body. The Basic Anatomy and Physiology course shall follow the objectives from Appendix E of the 1998 Release of the United States Department of Transportation (US DOT) National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) EMT-Paramedic. Topics include a basic study of the body systems as well as an introduction to homeostasis, cells, tissues, nutrition, acid-base balance, and electrolytes.
