With the growing popularity of Farmhouse décor, quilts today are fashionable and frequently used as decorative art. While small quilts are used as wall hangings, larger ones are used traditionally on beds or displayed as wall murals in designer homes. Increase your overall understanding of quilting terms and processes as you build your skills, exploring both traditional and contemporary approaches to quilting. Beginning students will complete one quilt block which can be turned into a pillow, a quillow (quilt in a pillow), a small wall hanging or the beginning of a larger quilt. Work will be done by hand and on college-provided sewing machines. Beginners and experienced quilters are welcome!
