This course provides the student with a certificate of competency in basic floor, wall and ceiling framing. The topics covered will include platform floor; cantilevers; well openings; decking; snap-out; plating; detailing; wood studding; RO's; flat, vaulted and coffered ceilings; gable rafters and trusses. In addition the student will have additional hand/power tool instruction along with orientation to the trade and wood building fasteners and adhesives. The focus of the course will be the skills necessary to perform basic frame carpentry in a safe and effective manner.
