This course reviews the fundamental knowledge necessary to provide basic emergency care and transportation based on assessment finds to patients suffering from acute orthopedic injuries. These injuries include the following: Open Fractures, Closed Fractures, Dislocations and Amputations. Students will review the pathophysiology, assessment and management of upper and lower extremity orthopedic trauma, sprains/strains and pelvic fractures.
