This short course reviews the principles of ultrasonics and meets the training requirements as defined in ASNT's-SNT-TC-1A and CP-105 for UT Level II. The participant will review techniques for straight and dual element examinations and will gain a solid understanding of practical angle beam examinations using digital flaw detectors. Weld examination, as applied to flawed samples, is the primary focus of the course applying ASME and AWS codes to assess weld condition. Practical aspects of the method are emphasized, as approximately one half the time is allocated for practical applications.
